a.
GENERAL:
Provide high performance, lowmaintenance, centrifugal airfoil fan
components. Fan shall be air performance tested based on tests
and procedures in accordancewithAMCA211. Fansmust be
manufactured and assembled in theU.S.A.
Acceptable vendors: ChicagoBlower Corporation
b.
PERFORMANCE:
Performance shall include steep pressure and non-overloading
horsepower characteristics.Mechanical efficiency shall be no less
than 80%. Systemstatic pressure changes of 30%shall result in
nomore than 10%CFM reduction.
c.
WHEEL:
Wheels to be statically and dynamically balanced toG6.3 standards
in accordancewith ISO1940 andANSI S2.19 specifications.
STEELWHEEL:
Wheel shall have cast iron hub (welded integral steel hubs on sizes
445 and 490) lockbolted to a heavy backplate. Blades to be double
skinned airfoil, constructed of high strength steel continuously
welded to the backplate and hyperbolicwheel cone.High speed
wheels shall have internal reinforcement stiffening ribs in the blades.
ALUMINUMWHEEL:
Wheel shall be airfoil constructed of 319 cast aluminumcapable of
14,000 FPM tip speed.Hubwill be integral cast intowheel with
taper-lock bushing for mounting.
d.
INLETCONEand INLETVOLUMECONTROL:
Inlet cone shall be hyperbolic.
Inlet VolumeControl (IVC) device shall be totally enclosedwithin
the inlet cone. IVCshall be 7-bladed, and pre-spin incoming air to
control volume pressure.

SHAFTS:
Shaft shall be select tolerance, turned, ground and polished 1045
hot rolled steel straightened to amaximumT.I.R. of .002 inches.
f.
HOUSING:
Kit housing shall be reversible for clockwise (CW) or counterclock-
wise (CCW) (sizes 445 and 490 are either CWor CCWonly) and
capable of being rotated to all sixteen standard discharge positions.
Scroll is to be continuously welded of heavy gauge steel (includes
welded angle bracing onSizes 445 and 490).
g.
SHAFTCOOLER:
Shaft cooler shall be 319 cast aluminum requiredwhenever
airstream temperatures exceed 350°F.Cooler shall be designed
such that installation or removal will not require bearing removal.
